LADCO 2022 WRF Modeling

Simulation: LADCO_WRF45_2022

LADCO used the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model (Advanced Research WRF dynamic core WRF-ARW) to simulate meteorology in the Great Lakes Basin for the year 2022. WRF is a mesoscale numerical weather prediction system designed to serve both operational forecasting and atmospheric research needs. WRF contains separate modules to compute different physical processes such as surface energy budgets and soil interactions, turbulence, cloud microphysics, and atmospheric radiation.

The reports on this page describe the application and performance evaluation of WRF version 4.5 to simulate 2022 meteorology on 12-km, 4-km, and 1.33-km domains focused on the Great Lakes Basin.
